Why is the rate of respiration faster in aquatic organisms as compared to terrestrial organisms


(Q.44)  Why is the rate of respiration faster in aquatic organisms as compared to terrestrial organisms?
 

(Ans) Since the amount of dissolved oxygen is fairly low in water, the rate of respiration is faster in aquatic animals.
